My friend Tyler, who is an amazing hairstylist and awesome mom, helped me figure out how to Create This hairstyle!  Tyler is going to start posting to Create This Look For Less with DIY hairstyles and more! Stay tuned! :o)

• Start with a side part, making sure all the hair is free of knots. It’s an inside-out french braid, so instead of crossing over each of the three strands, cross under. Great tutorial here (also, the music in this video is pretty awesome!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxLlEUGVir0 

• French braid along the hairline, going from forehead to ear. Once at the ear, begin cutting over, braiding towards your other ear, as opposed to keeping with the hairline. In order to achieve the look perfectly, tilting the head sideways or completely down at times will help. 

• Once you hit the other ear, add whatever hair you have left over, and start forming a side ponytail. Twist the hair upwards, as if you are about to create a french twist, and bobby pin it in, for strength. Then bring the hair down, as if you are going to create a twisted, tight bun. Confused?  Who isn’t at this point?! Try it, work with it, it will make sense once you start moving your hands through the hair, and don’t try to make it perfect- it’s messy for a reason!!!

• Finish by securing the side do with bobby pins, pulling bits of hair out of the bun to achieve maximum mess, and voila!! Feel free to loosen things up a bit by pulling on the braid, the bun, and any other hair that looks too tight.
